LUPINACCI WARNS BOATING COMMUNITY TO STAY ALERT
Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci is warning the community to stay alert while boating on local waterways this summer.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) is warning the community to stay alert while boating on local waterways this summer. Lupinacci’s concerns stem from a recent boating accident in Duck Island Harbor, which left one person injured.
“Fortunately no one in the accident was severely injured, but this should be a wake-up call for everyone operating a boat this summer,” said Lupinacci. “For the safety of our friends and families, please brush up on boating safety tips and regulations before getting behind the wheel of a brakeless 2,000 pound piece of steel.”
In May, the United States Coast Guard released alarming statistics showing that deaths and injuries in boating accidents have increased exponentially since 2013. The report also concluded that the leading factor in fatal incidents were alcohol-related.

“There is very little room for error while driving a boat on busy Long Island waterways. It’s imperative to stay vigilant and be cautious while boating this summer,” said Lupinacci.
