Man Appeared To Have Firearm In Suffolk: Police

The man ran away from police officers through back yards in the area, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Suffolk police are looking for a man they believe has a firearm and ran away from officers on Wednesday, police said.

Officers saw two men walking on Tower Street in Huntington Station at approximately 4 p.m., police said. One of the men appeared to have a firearm, police said. When officers tried to speak with the man he ran south through back yards in the area, police said.

Canine and aviation section officers could not find the man, who was last seen on Third Avenue by West Fourth Street at around 5 p.m. police said.
