Man Posing As Fire Inspector Scammed Huntington Station Store: Police

Police say he has attempted this scam at other Dunkin' Donuts locations. Do you recognize him?

A man posing as a “Fire Suppression Inspector” stole nearly $700 from Dunkin' Donuts in Huntington Station in May.

According to authorities, the man told employees at the 281 Walt Whitman Road store that he was performing an inspection for corporate on Wednesday, May 17.

Police say the man performed no such inspection and the employees paid him $675.26 from the register.

The man, who is wanted for petty larceny, has attempted this scam at other Dunkin' Donuts locations, police say.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
