SOUTH HUNTINGTON, NY — A married couple was stabbed in West Hills on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the husband's death, Suffolk police said.

Cisneros's wife, Vilma Campos, 54, of Huntington Station, pulled up, and Cordova also stabbed her, police said.

Cordova was taken into custody by Second Precinct officers after witnesses called 911, police said.

Vito D'Elia, superintendent of the South Huntington School District, called parents around 2:20 p.m. to inform them there may be delays with the dismissal of buses from the school.

"This afternoon we were informed that there was some police activity across from Stimson Middle School on Oakwood Road between Tippin and Foxwood Drive," D'Elia said. "While this police activity DOES NOT involve the school, because of its proximity to one of our school buildings, we wanted to inform the community ... Thank you for your patience and understanding."

There was no lockout at Stimson Middle School, according to the district.
