Movies on the Lawn Series Continues With 'Max' at Crab Meadow Beach
Service dogs and furry friends looking to be adopted will be in attendance.

The second scheduled event of the "Movies on the Lawn" series takes place at Crab Meadow Beach this Thursday.

- Summary: Max is a brave military war dog who served overseas in Afghanistan. Following a tragic event, Max is sent to an animal shelter where he was saved and adopted by his handler’s family. A new bond and mission begins.

"This is great family entertainment. Pack up your picnic supper, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this summer's movie lineup,” said Councilman Mark Cuthbertson, who is hosting the series.
To coincide with the movie's theme, members from PAWS OF WAR will be in attendance with some of their service dogs.

Huntington Town’s Animal Shelter will also be at Crab Meadow Beach to promote a “Free Pet Adoption Day Weekend,” which is held from July 8-10. This event coincides with the Huntington Animal Shelter’s “Give A Dog A Dream” program.
Prior to the movie, Mercurio Basketball Camp of Greenlawn will be sponsoring a “Basketball Shootout” from 6-7 p.m. Two winners in two age groups (5-7 and 8-10 years old) will win a free two-week session to the Mercurio Basketball Camp. For more info or to register, call: 631-351-3112 or go here.

The movie will begin at darkness, between 8:30-9 p.m. Residents are advised to arrive early.
