Movies on the Lawn Series Kicks off With 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

The first scheduled event of the "Movies on the Lawn" series will be held Monday at Heckscher Park. Get ready for:

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”

• Summary: Thirty years after the defeat of Darth Vader and the galactic empire, a new threat arises. Will Han Solo and Chewbacca lead the resistance to victory?
• Rated PG-13
• Rain date: July 18

"This is great family entertainment. Pack up your picnic supper, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this summer's movie lineup,” said Councilman Mark Cuthbertson, who is hosting the series.

All movies begin at darkness, between 8:30-9 p.m. Residents are advised to arrive early. Various entertainment will be scheduled prior to the movie screening.
