Musicians Line Up for Antonucci Benefit

Musicians will gather Wednesday for a rocking memorial benefit for the family of Phil Antonucci, who died Aug. 27.

The musician and sound technician had served as band parents association president at Huntington High School and as the announcer at the band's shows.

Funk Filharmonik, Jim Pin Band, Uppercut, Big Shot, Mike DelGuidice and other Long Island musicias will perform at the benefit, which is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Huntington Elks Club. Tickets are $20. All proceeds benefit the Antonucci family.

The benefit had been previously planned as a benefit while Antonucci, who was 59, was ill with cancer.

Benefit organizers wrote, "With his musical genius, his irascible wit, and his boundless love of  his family and his many friends and fans, Phil Antonucci touched  the hearts of Long Islanders throughout most of his 59 years."

Antonucci had won several honors, including an Emmy, for his work as a recording engineer and sound technician for a number of media companies, including Fox, CBS, YES, SNY and Cablevision. He had mixed sound on 2,200 live TV shows.
