Natalie And Nathan: Huntington Adoptable Pets Of The Week
The 9-week-old bonded siblings were born into a colony where they did not belong. Are you interested in adopting them?

HUNTINGTON, NY — Natalie and Nathan, 9-week-old bonded siblings, are the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pets of the Week.
They were born into a colony they did clearly not belong in, said Debbi Larkin, president of the shelter, who added this has been a "very difficult year" for kittens born into colonies. While Natalie and Nathan are not related, they are "for all purposes," siblings. The shelter was contacted by the rescuer who told it they needed out of the situation, and the rescue did not hesitate to say yes.
Both will be available for adoption around Thanksgiving.

"Natalie, a petite grey and white kitten is gentle, sweet and lovely beyond words..as per her foster mom," Larkin said. "She enjoys playing with her toys, playing with her 'brother from another mother' and adores constant petting and loving from her human foster family."
Natalie was born with an orthopedic irregularity to her front legs that give her a slightly bowed appearance, according to Larkin. The difference does not affect her mobility or comfort, she said.

"Our in- house vet tells us it may resolve itself as she grows," Larkin said.
Nathan, a handsome black kitten, is "utterly vivacious…happy playful and active," she said.
"He can be a tad rough at times because he is such a whirlwind. He is a big boy with an even bigger appetite for fun. When he isn’t dashing around and playing with his toys and sister, he loves to
climb into a welcoming lap to snuggle and purr, or just climb onto anything he can reach!"
Natalie (gray) and Nathan (black) have been checked by the shelter's veterinarian, received their first two vaccines, checked for parasites, both have tested negative for FELV and FIV and will be spayed or neutered in about three weeks. Then they will be heading into the shelter to join the rest of the crowd in the kitten room.

The rescue is at 3 Verleye Ave., East Northport, and visiting hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
The shelter is also open from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday nights only for those who cannot make it during the daytime hours.
"Let’s give these two furbabies something to be thankful for, their own forever home, and if that includes turkey and the trimmings, so be it!" Larkin said. "This is the beginning of the holiday season and what better way to spread some love and happiness than to adopt these beautiful kittens?"
