- Police looking for man who stole $1500 worth of goods from Home Depot in Commack. The man stole a wheelbarrow, cultivator, and roofing shingles back on Sept. 13. There is a photo of the man in the link and police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-221-TIPS. The man is wanted for grand larceny. (Daily Voice)
- Town of Oyster Bay recycles thousands of oyster shells from Oyster Festival. “You can’t have the Oyster Festival without oysters, and thousands of residents enjoyed this delicacy during the weekend’s festivities,” said Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino. “Thanks to a new initiative we recently launched, their shells will not go to waste." The shells are great for young shellfish to grow and mature. (LongIsland.com)
