Oldfield Middle School Ranked as Top Suffolk County Middle School

There are 32 Long Island schools on Niche.com's best 100 middle schools in New York list this year.

Niche.com has released its 2016 rankings of public middle schools across the country, with 32 Long Island schools making the list of the top 100 in New York.

That's down from 48 Long Island schools that made the list in Niche's 2015 rankings.

The top nine ranked schools on Long Island are all in Nassau County. The top Suffolk County school on the list, however, is Oldfield Middle School in the Harborfields School District at No. 29. The school moves up 10 spots compared to last year's results. Oldfield was ranked No. 39 in the state in 2015.

A high ranking, according to Niche, indicates that a school “is an exceptional academic institution with a diverse set of high-achieving students and faculty, and the students are very happy with their experiences.”
