The Pastore family’s day was made a little brighter after the Make-A-Wish Foundation and several local fire departments held a special event in their honor on Sunday.
The Huntington Manor Fire Department, Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department and the New York City Fire Department made a visit to see 14-year-old Marissa, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Marissa was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. A GoFundMe page was created to support the Pastore family while they focus all of their energy on loving their child while they still can.
The Pastore family is very much involved in the community. Risa is an Emergency Department nurse at Huntington Hospital and Domenick is a fireman with FDNY and a former Huntington Manor fire chief. They both are volunteers with the Huntington Manor Fire Department.
All donations will go toward covering their living expenses while they take time off from work to spend every waking moment with their daughter.
