FSL Helps Thousands Start School Ready (southshorepress.com) — Families in Huntington are among more than 2,000 across Long Island who received over 4,800 free backpacks and school supplies from Family Service League's Back-to-School Drive. With that effort complete, FSL is now gearing up for its Project TOY holiday program, which will provide gifts to more than 6,000 children and offers locals several ways to donate or get involved.

Dweezil Zappa 20: Like Father, Like Son Tour • MUSICFESTNEWS (musicfestnews.com) — Dweezil Zappa is bringing his DZ20 "Like Father, Like Son" tour to The Paramount in Huntington on November 5, giving local fans a chance to hear live interpretations of Frank Zappa's music. The tour spans 34 dates across the U.S. and Canada, but Huntington is one of just a few New York stops, making it a convenient opportunity for nearby residents.

Northport Police Blotter: Sept.21-27 (huntingtonnow.com) — Northport's latest police blotter details a week of calls that included a DWI arrest, harassment charges, storm-related hazards, and multiple medical emergencies where patients were transported to Huntington Hospital. Residents can see how officers handled disputes, downed trees, traffic issues, and welfare checks around village streets during the Sept. 21–27 stretch of unsettled weather.

Burgerology to open in Patchogue, replacing Spycoast Kitchen (newsday.com) — A new Burgerology is set to open in Patchogue this November, adding to the chain's growing Long Island footprint that already includes a Huntington location. The owner describes the concept as focused on family fun rather than nightlife, and says Patchogue had previously been one of the brand's strongest-performing spots before the earlier space closed.
