S. Huntington Library Stays Shut

Update 2 p.m. The South Huntington Public Library said Monday it would remain closed the rest of the day.

Originally closed because of a power failure, the library said Monday afternoon that road conditions made access difficult so it would remain shut the rest of the day. Power was restored, the library said.

Residents can call 549-4411 for updates or check the website.

No further details were immediately available. 

The Long Island Power Authority outage map reports seven customers out of power in the town but none are listed for South Huntington or Huntington Station.

Other programs are also canceled, including:

The adult education classes held in the Elwood schools  and programs at Coindre Hall.

Section XI's wrestling tournament was postponed Monday.
