All Nassau and Suffolk residents are invited torequest to have their smoke alarm installed. The Red Cross will notify you when they will be in your area.
Volunteers want to help the community stay safe by reducing one home fire at a time. Anyone with a smoke alarm is reminded to test them monthly and practice an escape plan in the event of a fire. These prevention methods are critical, considering the Red Cross says residents may only have two minutes to escape if a fire starts in their home.
