Shots Fired in Huntington Station Saturday: Police

BREAKING: Officers responded to a Shot Spotter activation at Melissa's Restaurant early Saturday morning.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Suffolk County Police are investigating a shots fired incident in Huntington Station that occurred early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a Shot Spotter activation at Melissa’s Restaurant in the 1400 block of New York Avenue around 2:15 a.m. According to police, several patrons reported hearing shots.

Police recovered shell casings from the scene and determined that shots were fired at the location. It was not immediately clear whether shots were fired inside the location or in the general vicinity. A Suffolk County police spokesperson could not confirm whether shots were fired inside the actual location.

Police have described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt pulled tightly around his face.
