  1. Transformer fire reported in Commack on Friday afternoon. The fire call came in at 12:37 p.m. at Jericho Turnpike and Indian Head Road. A telephone pole went ablaze, Suffolk police said. There were no injuries reported. (Patch)
  2. Residents came together Thursday night to support a fundraiser for the Sorrentino family’s Thanksgiving turkey giveaway. Andre Sorrentino is the Superintendent of Highways for the Town of Huntington and has been doing the giveaway of turkeys for 13 years. See photos from the event in the link. (Huntington Now)
  3. Veterans Day Ceremony to be held in Greenlawn on Friday, Nov. 11. The ceremony will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park at 11 a.m. and is the only Veterans Day ceremony in the Town of Huntington to take place on the actual date of Veterans Day. Veterans will be joined by elected officials and members of the public. (Long Island Press)
