Town to Review Environmental Impact of Redevelopment Sites in Huntington Station
The Huntington Station Gateway Plan will document three sites that are all within walking distance of the Huntington LIRR station.

At a Town meeting last Wednesday, the Huntington Town Board approved a plan that will document potential environmental impacts of three sites under consideration for redevelopment in Huntington Station.
The Huntington Station Gateway Plan will document three sites that are all within walking distance of the Huntington LIRR station:
- A hotel and an office building, located at the intersection of New York Avenue and Railroad Street.
- A mixed-use building with apartments and retail businesses, located behind the Town’s Gateway Plaza at New York Avenue and Olive Street
- Artists’ residences and display space in part of what is now a parking lot, located at New York Avenue and Church Street.
These three sites are under consideration for redevelopment by Renaissance Downtowns, the Town’s master developer for Huntington Station. This plan allows Renaissance Downtowns to take the next steps on each of the proposals, which could include site plan approval, the Town said.
