Toys Stolen From Huntington Station Warehouse Days Before Christmas: Police

Suffolk police say the toys were taken Saturday night after being left outside under a tarp.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — Suffolk County police are investigating a reported theft of toys from outside a warehouse in Huntington Station, authorities said.

According to police, the theft was reported Saturday night at approximately 7:50 p.m. at the Toys of Hope warehouse located at 167 E. Second St.

Toys of Hope (part of the American Giving Project) is an all-volunteer charity that provides toys, clothing, books, school supplies, and household essentials to needy and homeless children and families year-round.

Police said the toys had been left outside the warehouse, unsecured and covered by a tarp, when they were taken.

No arrests have been announced, and police did not immediately provide an estimate of how many toys were stolen or their value.

The incident remains under investigation.
