Utility Worker Dies In Fall From Bucket Truck In Suffolk
The worker was trimming trees around utility lines when he fell 20 feet, police say. Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the fall.
HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A utility worker died in a fall in Huntington Station on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Edis Rene Maldonado, 40, of Copiague, was trimming trees from around utility lines in front of 777 Park Ave., Huntington Station, when he fell approximately 20 feet from an extended bucket truck at approximately 1:55 p.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Maldonado was an employee of ARS Corp Services and a subcontractor for PSEG Long Island, according to police.

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating Maldonado's fall. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is checking the scene.
