Marcellino Re-Elected to New York's 5th Senate District
Incumbent Carl Marcellino (R) ran against James Gaughran (D).

Voters re-elected incumbent Carl Marcellino in the New York State fifth senate district election on Tuesday.
Republican Marcellino defeated Democrat James Gaughran in the state senate election.
With 293 out o 294 percent of precincts reporting, Marcellino has 68,647 votes compared to 66,019 votes for Gaughran.

Marcellino has served as senator for New York's fifth senate district since March 1995. Gaughran is a former legislator of New York's 17th district and member of the Huntington Town Board. He serves as Water Authority Chairman of Suffolk County.
