2. Man arrested following shooting, standoff in Irondequoit (rochesterfirst.com) — Irondequoit police responded overnight to Strathmore Circle after reports of an argument and gunfire, finding a 24-year-old man shot in the arm on Norton Street and rushing him to the hospital. Officers then surrounded a nearby apartment, evacuated neighbors, and arrested 28-year-old Malik Rivers, who now faces assault and weapons charges as the investigation continues.
   

3. One New York city ranks among America's top 5 best small cities (ithacajournal.com) — Irondequoit is included in a new WalletHub ranking of small U.S. cities, landing in the 33rd percentile for overall livability among towns its size. The study compares affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life, and safety across more than 1,300 communities, with Saratoga Springs cracking the national top five.
   

4. Second arrest made in burglary case in Ontario County (whec.com) — An Irondequoit woman has been charged in connection with a Farmington burglary investigation involving stolen debit and credit cards and state IDs. Ontario County deputies say her arrest is tied to an earlier suspect accused of stealing multiple cars and a dirt bike, and they expect more arrests as the case continues.
