
From Islip Schools: Islip High School varsity bowlers Joseph Kornahrens and James Rindos both recently scored perfect 300 games and were honored with commemorative bowling pins. Kornahrens scored his perfect game on Jan. 15 against Copiague, a highlight of a 33-0 victory, while Rindos’ achievement came on Jan. 22 in in game 3 of a 752 series, during a 30-3 win over Central Islip.
The boys team, coached by Jason Orlick, won the Suffolk County small school bowling championship on Jan. 29 at LI Bowl in Patchogue. Kornahrens had a four- game series of 885 with a high game of 238, Robbie Grasso had a high game of 242, Matt Steves had a high game of 240, Nate Moran had a high game of 223 and Ray Boyce added a high game of 217 to help secure the championship. The Bucs finished the season with the second highest team average in the county, earning them a spot in the county tournament.
