Car Drives Off Dock, Crashes Into Water In Islip
No serious injuries were reported. Check out additional photos from the scene below.
ISLIP, NY - A driver drove off a dock and into the canal in Islip on Thursday morning.
Suffolk Police confirmed the incident was reported at Ocean Avenue and Bayberry Road at about 6:30 a.m.
According to the Islip Fire Department, the car was partially submerged 60 feet out into the water.

An Islip Town park ranger had arrived prior and entered the water to help the driver out of the car.
The two then were able to make their way back to the bulkhead where Islip crews assisted the two out of the water.

Both were transported by the fire department and Islip Exchange Ambulance crews to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.
Surface rescuers then searched the vehicle to ensure there were no additional victims.
The search of the car proved negative and the scene was then turned over to the Suffolk County Police Department.
