ISLIP, NY - Islip High School recently hosted its annual homecoming parade, giving students, families and residents a chance to share their school spirit.

The pride-filled day included and a colorful parade down Main Street and a fantastic football game.

First, clad in purple, students from every district school building marched alongside parents, educators, board members, new Hall of Fame inductees and high school class floats.

The fun-filled day then kicked into overdrive once the game started, with the Buccaneers manhandling Miller Place from the opening kickoff return.

Islip staked out a 35-0 lead by halftime, which featured performances by the kickline, cheerleaders and marching band.

The band enthralled the audience with an elaborate routine featuring bicycles, set to the music of Queen.

The Bucs ultimately went on to win 42-13, led by Patrick Mai, highlighted by a 51-yard interception return and a 56-yard punt return, both touchdowns.

Joe Juengerkes was also instrumental in the win, rushing for 81 yards and a TD on 10 carries.
