Islip High School senior Tom Urban, an independent study student working under teacher Jesse Eilbeck, recently took on an advanced lathe turning project. Urban used two types of wood, jatoba and common pine, to fashion a unique lamp. Due to the pandemic, the design was completed in segments over a period of two months.
