Children’s masks were distributed at Islip High School on April 23 and 24, donated by the district’s vendor Renu. The initiative was organized by Scott Colletti and Mike VanDenburg, who formed the Promise for Hope organization to help students in need. They have also donated masks to the Brentwood, Bay Shore, Central Islip and East Islip school districts.

During the schools’ closure due to the coronavirus, Islip has been providing meals for students’ families daily, with pickup at the high school. The masks were offered during the district’s regular lunch distribution hours from 10 a.m. to noon.
