Islip School Budget Results Are In
Islip residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Islip residents approved the district's $83,956,103 proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1,060 to 355 .
The budget represents a 1.84 percent spending increase over the current year and a tax levy increase of 1.66 percent.
In the vote for Islip Board of Education members, incumbent trustee Tom Leggio, running unopposed, was reelected, winning 1,093 votes. Eric S. Buehler defeated Matthew Kriss, 913 votes to 374 for the seat left open by Brian Clock. Paul J. Austin, who was running unopposed for the seat left open by Mary Ann Coughlin was elected, received 1,085 votes.
