Islip Terrace Woman Starved 19-Year-Old Horse: SPCA

The 55-year-old was arrested on Thursday and charged with animal cruelty, the SPCA says.

ISLIP TERRACE, NY - An Islip Terrace woman was arrested on Thursday for failing to feed her horse, according to the Suffolk County SPCA.

Carol Diclementi, 55, was charged with animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance to Sunny, her 19-year-old horse.

After an anonymous complaint was filed, officials found Sunny living in deplorable conditions and severely emaciated.

He was surrendered to the Suffolk County SPCA and is now in the care of a veterinarian and on his way to a new life.

Diclementi is scheduled to appear in court on Augsut 20.
