Islip Town Investigator Arrested After Drawing Weapon During Argument: Police

The arrest was made on Tuesday afternoon.

An Islip Town investigator was arrested after drawing an expandable baton during an argument with an Islip Terrace man on Tuesday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

Stephen Badala, 53, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. at Seley Cross in Islip Terrace, police said.

He was charged with fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The Islip Terrace man, Sal Gulotta, told Newsday that Badala confronted him for calling and arguing with a town code enforcement officer after receiving a citation on Monday.

The two began to argue when Badala took out the baton and extended it, Newsday reports.
