Trish Bergin Wins Suffolk Legislator's District 10

Trish Bergin has won her bid to be the next legislator for Suffolk County District 10.

ISLIP, NY — The votes are in. Suffolk residents went out to the polls November 2nd to choose who will be Suffolk County's 10th Legislative District this Election Day.

Voters chose between Islip council member Trish Bergin (R), and community leader Carla Simpson (D). Tom Cimli, the current legislator for the district, did not again due to term limits. He has held the position since 2009.

As of Tuesday morning, with all votes counted, Bergin received a total of 10,008 votes, or 67.31 percent, while Simpson received 4,855 votes, or 32.65 percent.
