Nearly 900 Thanksgiving Meals Donated For Families In Need
This holiday, a local non-profit collected over 800 turkeys to give out to families in need.

ISLIP, NY - Hundreds of Islip families in need got a special Thanksgiving dinner this year. Islip Food for Hope, a local non-profit, donated over 900 boxes filled with traditional holiday fixings to distribute Thursday.
Over 800 turkeys were donated to create the "Boxes of Love," which were then given to families in need. In addition, the boxes contained side dishes to complete the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
"Each year, the number of families able to have a Thanksgiving meal through Islip Food for Hope grows," Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter said. "This year, more than 898 families will enjoy the traditions of this holiday."
