New Town of Islip Receiver Of Taxes Takes Oath of Office
Republican Andy Wittman was sworn into office on Tuesday.

ISLIP, NY — The Town of Islip officially has a new Receiver of Taxes.
Republican Andy Wittman took the oath of office on Tuesday, after beating Democrat opponent Donovan Currey earlier this month. Wittman won the election with 31,630 votes, or 64.88 percent over Currey, who received 17,115 votes, or 35.11 percent. This is his first time in public office.
Wittman is the owner and founder of “my NY Home Solution, LLC” , a real estate investment company based in Sayville. Its projects focus on luxury, off-campus college housing, currently in the Syracuse and surrounding micro-markets. He is also a licensed real estate broker.

Wittman spent 12 years in the public sector, first as a fire and EMS dispatcher, and then transitioned to firefighter with the FDNY. He is active in the hamlet of Sayville and surrounding communities, serving as a 27-year member of the Bayport Fire Department, formerly a VP of The Sayville Civic Association and is currently a coach for Baymen Youth Soccer.
“Having been an entrepreneur and a business owner, Andy brings a unique perspective to his new role here as Islip Town Receiver of Taxes,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

In addition to upholding his duties as Receiver of Taxes, Andy noted he will “work closely with our local community groups, nonprofits and service-based organizations, and help them in their respective missions to grow in the areas of awareness, recruitment and retention.”
Andy lives in Sayville with his wife, Jennifer and their three children.
