One Hospitalized After Overturn Crash In Islip

The crash was reported early Wednesday.

ISLIP, NY - One person was hospitalized after a two-car overturn crash in Islip on early Wednesday.

The Islip Fire Department responded to the incident reported at about 2:20 a.m. on Main Street near Union Avenue.

A car struck a parked unoccupied vehicle and then overturned onto its roof.

The driver of the overturned vehicle was the sole occupant and was able to self extricate prior to firefighters' arrival.

The driver was transported by Exchange Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of apparent non-life threatening injuries.

Islip crews secured the scene for safety by addresses a fluid spill and uprighting the vehicle.
