Centereach Man Arrested In East Patchogue Woman's Killing Behind Bar: Suffolk Police
Anthony Santiesteban was charged with second-degree murder for slaying Martina Thompson Saturday, police said.
CORAM, NY β Suffolk homicide detectives have arrested a 30-year-old Centereach man for shooting an East Patchogue woman to death over the weekend, police said late Tuesday.
Homicide detectives arrested Anthony Santiesteban and charged him with second-degree murder, police said, adding, that he will be held overnight at a police station in Selden and is scheduled to appear Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip.
Police previously said that officers responding to a 911 call reporting shots fired in a parking lot behind Taino's Lounge around 1:25 a.m. Saturday found a woman "suffering from a gunshot wound."

The woman, Martina Thompson, 33, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where she was declared dead, police said.
A police spokeswoman said detectives believe Thompson was the intended target.

The investigation is continuing, according to police.
Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison is expected to be joined by "community advocates and ambassadors" in the rear parking lot of 24 Middle Country Road in Coram, which Taino's Lounge, at 12:45 p.m. "to provide details of the arrest," according to police.
