Islip, NY – The United States Air Force Thunderbirds and the United States Navy Blue Angels paid tribute to essential workers battling COVID-19 with a fly over Long Island's south shore Tuesday.

The event was part of the America Strong tribute that brought the two elite and rival flight demonstration squadrons together in a rare joint appearance, to salute healthcare workers in the tri-state area on the front lines of the coronavirus.

Health care workers gathered outside Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip to witness the tribute.
