Town of Islip Sanitation Crews to Collect Christmas Trees, Winter Yard Waste This Week
Residents can leave waste for pickup this week or next week.

Town of Islip officials recently announced that sanitation crews will begin collecting Christmas trees and other winter yard waste during the second day of household collections for each of the first two weeks of 2017.
Depending on where residents live, pickup will occur on Thursday, Jan. 5 or Friday, Jan. 6 for the first week, and Thursday, Jan. 12 or Friday, Jan. 13 during the second week.
For those residents residing in the Islip Resource Recovery Agency Collection Districts (Black Pail Districts), waste will be collected on either Monday or Tuesday on Jan. 2 and Jan. 3, and Jan. 9 and Jan. 10.

Residents are asked to leave waste on the curb before pickup begins at 6 a.m.
In the event of snowfall, remove the waste from any compacted snow.

Christmas trees and winter yard waste will be collected separately from normal household waste.
