October 19th, 2021 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman James P. O’Connor joined with volunteers and Keep Islip Clean Director, Nancy Cochran, for a cleanup of the Oakdale LIRR Station. Over 20 volunteers participated in the cleanup. Groups of volunteers cleaned both parking lots and platforms of the LIRR train station; a portion of Montauk Hwy spanning east and west of the station; the Oakdale-Bohemia Rd section to the north; and a park at the station. More than 25 large garbage bags of trash and debris were collected during the cleanup.
