Town Of Islip: World War II Veterans Embark On Honor Flight

October 6th, 2021 –Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilman James P. O’Connor and Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken joined with Veterans from across Long Island at Long Island MacArthur Airport recently to welcome Honor Flight Long Island and its first flight since 2019. Honor Flight Long Island provides Veterans with an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to visit the US Capitol, and tour the memorials that pay tribute to the brave servicemen and women and the sacrifices they made.
