Vehicle Drives Into Icy Waters At Islip Town Docks In Dense Fog: FD
Firefighters say the driver inadvertently drove down the Maple Street boat ramp and became stuck in icy waters early Wednesday morning.

ISLIP, NY — Firefighters responded to a report of an occupied vehicle that had entered the water at the Islip Town Docks early Wednesday morning, according to the Islip Fire Department.
Fire officials said the department was notified at around 5:35 a.m. of a vehicle that had inadvertently driven partially down the Maple Street boat ramp in dense fog conditions before becoming stuck in icy water.
Upon arrival, units located a single vehicle that had entered the water at the end of the ramp.

The occupant was not injured and was assisted safely out of the vehicle by emergency responders, according to the fire department.
No additional injuries were reported.
