Bellew fifth grader Charlotte Ciano explored the science of food while making breadsticks at home. Her family placed a drop of activated yeast and a drop of food coloring on a slide, and Charlotte viewed the budding yeast under her microscope. She then made breadsticks with the yeast.
“Charlotte loved learning about how this microorganism makes the bread rise,” said her mother, Kristen.
