Case Of Dead Fetus At LaGuardia Leads To No Charges, DA Says

The baby found in an airplane bathroom was unexpectedly stillborn, the Queens district attorney's office said.

QUEENS, NY — No criminal charges will be filed in the case of a dead fetus found at LaGuardia Airport last month, the Queens District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.

The fetus was found in a bathroom aboard an out-of-service American Airlines plane on Aug. 7. An autopsy revealed it was unexpectedly stillborn and had not been viable for at least a day before the delivery, the DA's office said.

"There was no criminality and no charges will be filed," the DA's office said in a statement.

A cleaning crew reportedly discovered the fetus on the Airbus A321 plane the morning after it arrived at the Queens airport from Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Brooklyn teenager who reportedly left it there was on her way back from a vacation in Jamaica, where she was treated for pain but had idea she was pregnant, the New York Post reported.
