Man Bit Off Bouncer's Finger After Being Told Bar Closed: NYPD

A man who bit off part of a security guard's finger at a Jackson Heights sports bar last month is still at large, police say.

JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS — Police are looking for a man who bit off part of a security guard's finger at a Queens bar.

The security guard was closing a Jackson Heights sports bar shortly after 4 a.m. on Feb. 16 when a man walked up to him and asked to go in, according to police. The guard said the bar, El California Sports Bar at 76-03 Roosevelt Ave., was closed. The man started arguing with the security guard, then bit off part of the guard's left pinkie finger and ran away.

The guard, 37, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where doctors reattached his finger.

The suspect, seen in surveillance video, has dark close-cut hair and a goatee, police said. He was wearing a black jacket with Japanese iconography.
