Off-Duty NYPD Officer Accused Of Hitting Mother In Face: Report

An off-duty NYPD officer is facing an assault charge after he reportedly hit his mother in the face on Friday, according to police and a news report.

The New York Post reported that the cop got into an argument with his mother at their home in Jackson Heights. According to the Post, police said the officer punched his mother in the right side of her face.

The officer, identified by police as 35-year-old Joseph Wong, is charged with third-degree assault.
