A fire broke out at a decorative hardware shop on 43rd Avenue in Queens early Wednesday, seriously injuring one firefighter.
CORONA, QUEENS — A fire broke out at a decorative hardware shop in Queens early Wednesday, injuring one firefighter.
The fire started about 3:30 a.m. at 96-12 43rd Ave. in Corona, a Fire Department spokesman said. The one-story building is home to decorative hardware purveyor Hamilton Bowes, according to the company's website.
Reached by phone, a Hamilton Bowes employee declined to comment.

One firefighter with serious but non-life-threatening injuries went to Elmhurst Hospital, the FDNY said.
A team of 60 firefighters got the blaze under control just after 4:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the FDNY said.
