Jackson Heights Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, Suspect Arrested: NYPD
A man suffered a fatal shot to the chest on 88th St. in Jackson Heights Monday, police said.

JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS — A man was shot and killed in Jackson Heights on Monday, police said.
Jackson Heights resident Jeffrey Arroyo, 31, suffered a shot to the chest about noon on April 8 at 37th Avenue and 88th Street, according to police. Emergency responders rushed Arroyo in critical condition to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died.
Police on Tuesday arrested a man on manslaughter and weapon charges in connection with the shooting.

"My heart goes out to the family of the victim," City Council Member Daniel Dromm, who represents Jackson Heights, said in a statement. "I remain committed to ending senseless acts of violence such as these and will continue to advocate for the passage of common sense gun control laws that keep weapons out of the hands of criminals."
