SUV Hits, Kills 70-Year-Old Pedestrian In Queens

It happened early Sunday at Northern Boulevard and 108th Street, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A 70-year-old man is dead after he was hit by an SUV near Jackson Heights in Queens. Police found the man lying unconscious and not breathing at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and 108th Street around 5:20 a.m. Sunday. He had suffered injuries to his head and body.

Emergency responders declared the man dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family can be properly notified.

Early indications are that he was hit by a Toyota Highlander that was heading east on Northern Boulevard. The 40-year-old woman who was driving the SUV stayed at the scene.
