Thieves Nab Easter Baskets From Jackson Heights Church

JACKSON HEIGHTS, QUEENS — Thieves stole nearly $500 worth of goods from a Jackson Heights church, including 14 Easter baskets filled with chocolate, according to police.

Two people stole a laptop, speaker and miscellaneous household items — including a garbage can, utensils and the Easter baskets — from Atonement Lutheran Church on April 17, police said.

The theft, which happened about 3:20 a.m. that morning, resulted in the loss of $470 worth of goods, according to police.

Police on April 19 arrested 32-year-old Manhattan resident Natasha Brnjac for the burglary. A second suspect is at large.
