Jamestown Woman Charged Following Early Morning DWI Traffic Stop (wnynewsnow.com) — Jamestown police report that a 23-year-old city resident was charged with DWI after an early-morning traffic stop at East Second Street and Hopkins Avenue on August 2. The driver was processed at Jamestown City Jail, issued tickets, and released with a future Jamestown City Court appearance, while remaining presumed innocent. 
2. Community Invited to Join Chautauqua County Overdose Awareness Week Recognition & Events (chautauquacountyny.gov) — Chautauqua County will mark Overdose Awareness Week August 24–31 with purple-lit landmarks, including Jamestown City Hall, and themed Spirit Week activities to spark conversations about recovery and stigma. Residents can join the Be the Light event in Dunkirk, attend naloxone trainings, and connect with local support resources. Organizers are also seeking volunteers, sponsors, and new coalition members.
3. Two Fredonia Residents Charged After Narcotics Search Warrant, Fentanyl Seized (wnynewsnow.com) — Regional narcotics investigators, including detectives from the Jamestown Police Department, seized suspected fentanyl and arrested two Fredonia residents during a search of a West Main Street home.
