• Kyung H. 'Katie' Franco (scdemocratonline.com) — Kyung H. “Katie” Franco, a St. George's parishioner and owner of Katie's Bed and Breakfast in Cochecton, died October 29 at 77. Her obituary remembers her kindness, generosity and hospitality. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 9, at 10 a.m. at St. George's Roman Catholic Church in Jeffersonville. 
• Timothy C. Smith (scdemocratonline.com) — Timothy C. Smith of Hurleyville, an Air Force veteran and former Tri Valley school board member, died November 1 at 78. The retired telephone company manager will be buried with military honors Monday, November 9, at 1:30 p.m. at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty, with the public welcome.
