• Former Jericho PTA Treasurer Accused Of Stealing More Than $50K, 'Betrayal': SCDA (patch.com) — Jericho families are learning that a former Jericho Elementary School PTA treasurer has been charged with grand larceny after authorities say more than $50,000 in PTA funds were misused over several years. Prosecutors describe a pattern of personal spending and cash withdrawals, and the defendant, released without bail under state law, is due back in court on May 5.
   

• Centereach man indicted for alleged drunken driving crash that injured road worker (newsday.com) — Prosecutors say a Centereach man was driving home from Jericho after drinking when he allegedly crashed through a marked Long Island Expressway road closure in February, seriously injuring a cleanup worker. He’s now indicted on aggravated vehicular assault and related charges and faces up to 15 years in prison, with his next court date set for June 3.
